Feather & Lawry Design is delighted to announce we now represent the renowned Sydney-based botanical artist, Jenny Fusca. Her works are bought for collections nationally and internationally and are highly sought by Interior Designers for their clients.
Working in the lively medium of acrylics, sealed with oil glazes, her vibrant blooms spring to life on the canvas. She often paints on oversized canvases - limited in size only by the ability to get them through the front door!
Jenny's style is representational and contemporary. The large scale immerses the viewer in a ‘cinematic’ experience. Some works explore the luscious, secret world at the centre of a bloom, while others pull back to celebrate the opulence of several flowers together.
Jenny is interested in the play of light through petals and leaves revealing complex structures and colours. Her process involves seeking out flowers in parks and gardens as well as regular trips to the flower markets. She photographs both outdoors and in her studio, before arriving at a composition.
Jenny has a background in oil painting, botanical art and ceramics and was encouraged from an early age to notice the ‘small details’ in the natural world to which she credits her love of flowers.
Her works were featured in Art Edit magazine (2017), The Flower Seekers magazine (2018) and her painting ‘Spray Roses’ appears in Home Beautiful, October 2018.
In 2017, she created the ‘Fiori’ collection for Floriade, Canberra to help celebrate their 30th anniversary. She also exhibited as part of Eden Unearthed in Macquarie Park, Sydney. She is a regular exhibitor at the Gosford, Lindfield, Hunters Hill, Balmain & Toowoomba Art Shows. In June 2018, Jenny hosted a solo exhibition ‘Floriana’ at The Milk Factory Gallery, Bowral.
